KELANTAN: An Outsider's View

PART 2: REGISTRATION DAY

I woke up the next morning excited of my day ahead. I had my bath, and guess what- the water was clear, hehe. I was relieved, cos I wasn’t quite ready to bathe in the ever famous yellow Kelantan water. I was a bit confused at first as to why the water was not yellow, not knowing then that I would get my answer in a few days time.

I had breakfast and headed straight to USM. I enjoyed my journey towards USM as there were a lot of things that I noted. One was the fact that the Coke signboard boldly spelled Coca- Cola in Jawi. I was extremely amused at that site. And the next thing was that there were rarely any buildings taller then 2 storeys high. No apartment- like buildings like KL or Ipoh. And there were becas on the road. Yeah, im talking bout those Melaka- like becas where the driver rides a bicycle and the passenger sits in the compartment beside him. And it wasn’t for tourists; it was actually a mode of transport here!! (that was according to Pak Sarif) Wah, steady man these people, I would be embarrassed to my bone to take a ride on one. Ya la, a bit the retro- like ma. But Pak Sarif could not have said it better- ‘At least it’s a halal source of income well earned with their own sweat’. God Bless them Beca riders!!

We finally reached USM. By then the place was crowded with people- future graduates, fathers, mothers, uncle, aunties, grandparents and even babies. It was chaotic if u asked me. I didn’t understand why everybody had to be there when it’s only registration day. Its suppose to be a formal thing. But oh well.

So I got myself registered, checked out my room which was a room for two with a double decker bed, I had to settle with the top deck as I was sharing with a senior who was then a 3rd year Medical student. She wasn’t there when I arrived cos seniors are instructed to leave the hostel during the new intake orientation week.

So anyway, I spent the rest of the day cleaning my room while my over concerned dad went out and bought everything- you- could- think- of for me… honestly daddy… but that’s my dad, he’ll never let his eldest daughter grow up… by the end of the day, I had to say goodbye to my dad as orientation week was to start the next day and we were required to stay in our hostel and to not have contact with any outsiders for the following week- typical orientation rules.

So I was to have my bath at the hostel that night, and to my horror, the water was yellow…! Mum was right. It wasn’t purely yellow la, that would just be exaggerating, but it was very2 slightly yellow. You would only notice if you were looking. Can bathe la, but a bit scary. Whatever it is, I was determined to find out why the water at a HEALTH campus was yellow while Pak Sarif had clear water supply.

To be continued….

Sunday Night Late Forum : The Election, Sir...

Last night...I found it hard to sleep, there was a lot of things coming into my head especially the unfinished work I have, "Aahhh...keje? esok aku buat laa.." I sighed to myself. It was 2am, but I still couldnt sleep..."Arkk..if today was a champion league match, ok laa, at least can watch some footie..." I sighed again. I closed my eyes tight and tried to free my mind...the sleepiness was donning in... "finally, I can get some rest".

Just then, a very familiar voice awoke me "Hey...'master of the body', We cannot sleep too... lets have a chat"."Shit...that was my knee-head brain's voice, arkk...what does 'it' want at this time?its 2.15am already, go to sleep laa...!" I talked to myself while trying not to shout out the question. "Sir... we can't sleep, please...chit chat with us!Please wake-up, Sir..." The other voice tried to persuade me. "Arkk...that's my right-brain's voice..."Its here too? I'm done this time... there goes my sleep...". Then...I heard the other say "They brought me too sir...". "Arkk...my left-brain also here...?" I sigh again.

Then...I decided to wake my self up and said to them "Ok...Ok...Ok...what do you guys want huh??" The knee-head brain answer "Alaa...we just wanna chat laa...like you, we also can't sleep maa..!!"I ask them again "You guys wanna talk about what?". The right-brain answer "I`m interest to talk about the election sir..."."ELECTION??at this time?hey...left-brain, you wanna talk about election too?" I ask the left-brain. The it said"I follow the majority sir.." Then knee-head brain said "The ELECTION topic is a good topic laa...". "Okla..then you ask me...or I ask you?" I ask them. "I want you to ask me,Sir..." The right-brain answer. "Me too.." Knee-head brain also answer the same. "And you left-brain...?"I ask the left-brain. Then it say "I'll follow the majority, Sir...".

We started the 'Wednesday Late Forum' with my first question to them..

"Can you give me a reason..why have I yet to register as a voter"
Right-head brain: You lack of awareness, you are not motivated as well, Sir!
Knee-head brain : You're still confuse...which party will will you vote for!
Left-head brain : Hmm... I don't have any idea, Sir !

Then ask them my second question..."Ok...If I register as a voter...which party should I vote for?"
Right-head brain : You just vote the candidate who delivers what you want, Sir...
Knee-head brain : You vote the party who will give you RM20++ or kain pelikat..
Left-head brain : You just do 'undi rosak', Sir...

"Shit you left-head, if I do 'undi rosak', it will just be a waste of my time,fool"...but it answered "At least you got a day off, Sir...".

Then I ask them my 3rd question "Ok...what you guys think about 'undi-rosak'...?
Right-head brain : Definitely an unethical behavior, Sir...
Knee-head brain : I heard somewhere, there were campaign about a boycott...Sir, do 'undi-rosak' its the way to boycott!
Left-head brain : Sir...I think, the 'undi-rosak' gang..come to the election just to get they leave from work only...By the way, they came to confirm their attendance.

"Ok..where should I vote?Here...or at my hometown?".
Right-head brain : Hmm..you better vote here, Sir! You stay here..so that you can see the progress if the candidate that you voted for wins!
Knee-head brain : You just vote here, no need to go back to your hometown...but if the candidates allow you to claim the petrol, you should go back to your hometown.
Left-head brain : Hmm..same shit different place, Sir!Errr...actually your vote is not valid yet, Sir...you need to register as a voter first, Sir...

"Hmm...Ok2, I`ll register soon...tell me what you feel about SPR?" I ask them my 5th question.
Right-head brain : Sir...I think its too much controlled by the government that that's not fair the opposition, they should stay under the parliament or Agong, Sir..!
Knee-head brain : So far so good..so long..so 'old' !
Left-Head : 50th year of SPR...nothing to say, Sir...

"But..the MARFEL can monitor the SPR...right" ? I ask them my 6th question !
Right-head brain : I don't think its enough, Sir...but better then nothing !
Knee-head brain : Who wanna hear?who wanna read the report?Shit...
Left-head brain : It should change its name to WAFER, let's eat together..Hmm...but if edible pun not filling...nothing !

"Then..for what I should join the election as a voter ?" I ask them my 7th question...
Right-head brain : For your country, Sir...
Knee-head brain : Totally for nothing!
Left-head brain : Errr...for 1-day leave, Sir...

"Ok...you guys vote... should i register as a voter or not ?"
Right-head brain : Yesss, Sir...
Knee-head brain : No !!!
Left-head brain : I follow the majority, Sir...

"Shit you left-head...give me your vote" I scold and ask it again.. "Eerrrr...really I don't know, Sir..it's up to you!"

Suddenly...I felt a sudden urge to micturate. I opened my eyes ...the clock on my wall showed 4.45am. there's no one there..."was I talking about the election just now?Aarrkkk...was i dreaming or what, argghhhh..." I sighed to myself. i made my intended trip to the toilet, did what i had to do (so to speak) and forced myself back to sleep again...

Research & Development + Implementation !

This morning..I received a copy of 'TECHNICAL REPORT of ISO 9001:2000 IMPLEMENTATION OF GUIDELINES FOR MALAYSIA SMALL & MEDIUM ENTERPRISE". The 154pages report was done after a 11month work-hard research by my friend, Miss Hasnida Ab Samat as a task for her final year thesis to complete her Mechanical Engineering requirement. What impressed me was she only come once to my work place to survey the manufacturing process-flow. During her 11 month thesis, we communicated by 29 emails and not more then 30 calls. Only with 1 survey+29 emails+30calls, she finished this fantastic-manual that in which i can use to implement the ISO 9001:2000 at my work-place!

Someone said "Its just a thesis done by an undergraduate student for her graduation requirement !". To me...it not just an ordinary thesis but a great deal of research about the company. As a small/medium manufacturing sector, the 'manual' is very useful for implementation. How much would it cost if we were to hire a consultant to do the 'manual' ?
I guess...the cost will be around RM5k-RM7k per day for a basic layout. To a small/medium manufacturer...RM5k-RM7k per day...not a small amount, a lot of things could be bought...

There are a lot of successful 'R&D's done at universities but were not commercialized as there is basically lack of awareness to the benefit of it. The university management themselves is not concerned about the success of the R&D while most of them only just think about the profit of the grant. To me..one way to use the R&D is to add one more word at 'Research & Development' itself which word 'implementation'. So it should be renamed: 'Research & Development + Implementation'.

The copy that I receive is the one of the examples of a useful R&D paper work for a SME such as my work place. Who is responsible to create such ideas to do that ?? In my case...the person who was responsible to create this "Manual Guide to ISO" was my ex-lecturer Dr.Shahrul Kamaruddin. When I met him last year, I asked him how to create a standard ISO for my work place. He gave me a suggestion about ISO for my company and promised to help me by giving the ISO title to one of his students as their final year thesis. He kept his promise and after 11months, he delivered the promise by producing the "Manual Guide to ISO" specifically a study case at my work place via Miss Hasnida's thesis.

To be more clear..the focus research output is not only just to commercializes like producing products but the focus must goes as far as to how it can be implemented. R&D will be produced from the universities and the implementation is the responsibility of the enterprises especially to the small/medium enterprises. As long as the research can be use for the enterprises, that is by far declared as a successful research.

So...how much should we pay Miss Hasnida and Dr.Shahrul??? By the way...I owe you the implementation! One day..I`ll deliver it with an ISO certificate...

KELANTAN… AN OUTSIDER’S VIEW

PART 1: THE ARRIVAL
This is coming up to be the start of my 5th year in Kelantan- particularly in Kubang Kerian. It’s not my first time here actually- I have lived in Pengkalan Chepa camp when I was 2 or so. My dad was in the army, duh…obviously! But I guess that stay doesn’t count cos I don’t remember anything.

Anyway, I got my offer to do dentistry in USM back in 2003. I was kindda disappointed at first cos my passion lies in medicine but you know what they say, beggars can’t be choosers. Sape suruh main2 masa matrics… anyway, it didn’t really hit me then that this also meant that I was gonna spend the next 5 years of my life in Kelantan. It was my mother who reminded me that USM’s Health Campus is in Kubang Kerian, Kelantan. Being from a very strong UMNO background, u should expect that I of course panicked… I was like – “oh no, im going to PAS-land!!!! HELP!!!!”

You cannot imagine how many people I knew laughed at the fact that I was going to further my studies in Kelantan. People were like “haha, habis la ko kena dok ngan orang PAS” or “macam mana la diorang bleh letak orang UMNO mcm u kat sana?” or “you know what they say bout Kelantan- everyone who goes there will marry a Kelantanese” and also “how the heck is an outspoken girl like you gonna live in a socially depressed state like Kelantan?” well, I wasn’t petrified, but I was sure that the next 5 years was going to be a depressing and low profile one… so not me!!!!

Anyway, I choose to not think about it and ignored the comments. I thought that was for the best. I wanted to ask my parents how it is in Kelantan but every time I try, my mother will emphasize that Kelantan is filthy and that the water is yellow. So I decided that I should just go see for myself. So that day eventually came when I boarded the plane to Kelantan. In the plane, I couldn’t stop imagining how it was going to be like. And I hope what im gonna say wont offend anybody, but this is the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

Throughout my 55mins journey, I honestly thought that Kelantan would be full of trees- u know, like in a jungle. And I honestly believed that there were still people living up trees in Kelantan. I also assumed that the airport would be a badly broken down one. And I also had this pre assumption that everyone I meet would be draped up and well, erm, smelly. Sorry!

So the moment of truth arrived. The stewardess finally announced our arrival. My dad and I stepped out of the plane. I had the shock of my life. The airport was BEAUTIFUL. It boldly welcomed us to Kelantan. I was truly impressed. Then we stepped outside where my father’s old friend was waiting to fetch us to his place to spend the night before registering at USM the following day.

During the journey to Pak Sarif’s house, I was thanking God that Kelantan had houses like in KL- not up in the trees and not old fashionly made of wood- not all of them though, and im referring to made of woods part. And Kota Bharu was just like any other town. It was definitely not pumping like KL but it wasn’t a jungle or a dumpster la. Its not that you see rubbish everywhere. This place was ok la I would say. And when I reached Pak Sharif’s house, it was a nice single storey terrace house. Small and modest but atleast not in the jungle. Forgive my continuing use of the word ‘jungle’ because I am abit scared of the wild so the fact that Kelantan isn’t all jungle, leaches, snakes and wild animals, was a total relieve for me. I don’t care if you don’t have cinema’s or shopping centers but just NO LEACHES!!!

Anyway, we then had dinner with Pak Sarif, Mak Zaharah and Abg Hisham. Dinner was great- it wasn’t sweet like EVERYBODY told me Kelantan food would be. And the family was really nice and warm and non judgmental. Well, one can argue that it’s because this family is not local. They are from Malacca and chose to retire in Kelantan. But to me, if this was how they lived, then the rest of the community should not be so different- I hoped so la, hehe.

Anyway, I slept soundly that night. Looking forward to seeing more of this foreign state the next day…. To be continued…

Meet the Fella

Waiting for fella...

I arrived at Pengkalan Chepa Airport at 7.45pm...parked my 10years old iswara at a no-parking spot like rest of the folks here near the arrival gate. I went inside and checked the MH1402 schedule, and my doubt was confirmed that MH1402 has yet to arrive. Its still early and I think should have a smoke first..I walked outside and sat at a 'public-seat' and smoked my peter near the arrival gate while checking out a few girls also eagerly awaited the arrival of the Malaysian Airline. Some of them were smiling, chating, even smoking ..but most of them looked sick of waiting..kot ? From my view, there were 6-7 taxi drivers talk amongst themselves while waiting to get a passenger. They were talking something like 'kedai pelayan : after work, we all go...!' I tried to look for some 'unregistered taxis' or 'ulat' or 'prebet sapu' as commonly known but...honestly...I can't find them, maybe they are hiding somewhere...or maybe this not their area...or 'prebet sapu' do not work at the night...don't know la. I finished my smoke, put out the light and dumped my cigarette butt into a big ashtray looking thing which i presume isn't suppose to function as an ashtray.

'knee-head's brain' + 'left-brain' + 'right-brain' = 'My-Brains conscience'

I walked near the gate and noticed that the clock at the wall showed 7.55pm...and i sighed to myself "Aaahh...5 minutes late??Why hasn't the MH 1402 arrived?Aaahhh...whatever laa..". I walked outside and smoked another peter...and 'my brains conscience' started giving me signals which led me to another sigh of 'whatever la'! Personally I don't like it when 'my brains' are too active...to me 'they' are trouble makers, especially my 'knee-head's brain conscience' !! Actually...'whatever' is not a good 'decision', maybe 'they' come just because of the word W.H.A.T.E.V.E.R !! Unfortunately...sometime the provocative attitude of 'knee-head's brain conscience' gets great support from the my second brain called 'left-brain conscience'. what's good about my second brain is its 'two- faced' attitude. But...I got one more 'brain-conscience' which always will save me and cool down my 1st and 2nd brains...its named 'right-brain conscience'. One thing that I always worry about is the argument they argue amongst themselves...ark!This is...one of the situation, one that worried me at that moment...

My 'knee-head brain' started thinking of really out of the world ideas... which i hope is not too negative!
Knee-head brain :Its late!! Lets sue MAS...!!
Right-brain : Ehh...cannot...cannot...MAS is to big laa..we cannot fight them...wanna die or what??
The 'knee-head brain' continued the idea...
Knee-head brain :Errr...ok2...we`ll sue the chairman, Dato' Dr. Munir!!!
The left-brain supports the 'knee-head's brain' idea...
Left-brain : Yesss....yess...I`m agree...we sue the chairman..
Right-brain :Hm..that big-bird can easily peck us..we`ll loose the case in no time...!
Knee-head brain :Hahh...Idris Jala...he is Managing Director cum CEO of the MAS.
Left-brain : yaaa...we sue Idris Jala...
Right-brain : But then, what's the difference between Dato' Munir and Idris?? Also..big bird, So..cannot...cannot..cannot, we will not win the case!!!
Left-brain :We need find the person who is responsible for the late arrival of MH1402,
Knee-head brain : I got one...why don't we sue Captain Ahmad Zuraidi Dahalan, Flight Operations Senior General Manager...
Left-brain : Oo..so thats the person whos responsible for the late arrival yaa...??
Right-brain : Hmm...
but, for sure...he will be too busy to come to the court!Aaahhh...I don't agree to sue him, for sure we will not meet him at the court, I'm not interested to sue a person who will not come to court, for sure!!!
Left-brain : Yaaa...no fun to sue a person who will not come to the court.So...who will we sue ?? Who's navigating the plane..??
Knee-head brain :Yess...yess...we'll sue the pilot...He's who's responsible for the delay of the arrival...he're navigating the plane...the key of flight MH1402 is in his hands maaa..!!
Left-brain : So...he's totally the cause of the plane being late...ish..ish...siap la kamu wahai si pilot, we'll sue you..".
Right-brain : Woo..woo..you guys forgot something...we are the brain of a mechanical engineer...maybe, the plane's mechanical got screwed-up or something...the mechanical factor is an unpredictable problem maa...the pilot is innocent maaa...
Left-brain : Yaa...yaa...we can't sue the wrong person...that's immoral la...we find others to blame laa...
Knee-head :Then...we should sue the announcer, maybe she went out somewhere during her work time?this is...ethic problem...she must be responsible for this matter!
Left-brain : How do you know the announcer is a 'she'...? I guess..the announcer is 'he' laa...
Right-brain : Hey...it doesnt matter if the announcer is a she or a he...the important is, how much does the announcer earn? what if the announcer is someone who provides for his family... don't you have pity for the announcer ...plus i think he knopws hes job well enough to annonce the arrival of the flight, if its here, we'll know bout it, if its not... then its not la...better just stop thinking about suing, see there...'leaders@mas.com.my', if you got a complain we just better send the complain to that email add...!For sure...if they saman-balas us...there'll be trouble to us...but then, theres always bloggers united!

SUDDENLY...there were 'she'-voice from the no-where...and all 'my-brains conscience' gone...the voice anounce "PENGUMUMAN...KETIBAAN PESAWAT MH1402...KL-KB + bla..bla..bla.."

The First Meet...

Haaa...He's arrived!!! I was still smoking my 4th Peter's and just starred outside...finished smoking and disposed my peter the same way i did the rest and then walk inside and waited again but now at the air-conditioned side of the airport ! the passenger of MH 1402 went out...most of them had large luggages! From a distance...i noticed a medium build, slightly bald guy, very familiar...just with a sling beg on his left shoulder + pull trolley bag in his left hand. My assumption the load of his left hand was nearly 30kg++ and his right hand was just his less than 200gram NOKIA handphone. I thought to myself, there is a great balancing problem going on!!

I come up to him and say "bro sheih kaaa?" He stared at me and moved the handphone to his left hand and said "Yesss...yes...Jasny yaa...jap yaa..." What a great meet...

*while i create this post...my knee-head's brain come and ask "Hey the body owner, why the title is 'meet the fella...' ? You just meet the fella at your last paragraph jee..." I answer "Ikut suka aku laaa...."

RELIGION vs CURE ???

I don’t usually buy papers. No, im not trying to be ignorant but I just somehow will never find the time to read it. However, I was very drawn to purchase yesterday’s (12 April) newspaper.

NO MORE INJECTIONS- Stem- cell treatment provides cure for diabetics.

That was the headline that drew my attention. I paid my RM1.20 and went to a café near by to indulge in my newly purchased newspaper.

While reading I couldn’t help but wonder how many people who would have read this would actually realize what a breakthrough the medical world has just given to us. This is, for me, a humongous success- imagine a Type 1 diabetic patient not having to inject himself with insulin ever again… this should be celebrated as if we’ve found cure to cancer!!

To all those who are still blur2, let me shed some light on this matter. Diabetes is when u have increased sugar levels in your blood which will then cause increased sugar level in your urine. Hence why we say diabetes as ‘kencing manis’.

The food we consume daily will be broken down in our stomach to produce sugar or glucose. This glucose will then be absorbed into our blood to be transported to all our organs that needs glucose to function. The glucose can only enter the organs from the blood when there is presence of hormone Insulin. Glucose is like fuel to our organs, without it we will be tired and can’t function. In a diabetic patient, this glucose cannot be transferred from our blood to the organs, as there is a problem in the production of Insulin by our pancreas or if our body somehow fails to use the insulin produced by our pancreas, thus increasing the sugar level in our blood. High sugar level in our blood is bad cos it will make your blood thick causing your whole circulation to clog up.

In a Diatbetic Type 1 patient, their pancreas somehow failed and they cannot produce enough insulin. this is due to various problems which is too elaborate to explain. Perhaps anyone interested should Google ‘AUTO IMMUNE’. But anyway, a Type 1 Diabetes patient will be doomed to a lifetime of Insulin injections everytime he wants to eat. Imagine doing that for the rest of your life!!

In this new approach of treatment, stem cells are used to ‘regenerate’ the pancreas giving it a renewed capacity to produce insulin. (i don’t know how to explain STEM CELL to you so perhaps you should Google that too). Anyone with an inferring ability should be able to deduce that this would then mean that a Type 1 Diabetes patient doesn’t ever need to inject himself with insulin anymore.

However, there are too many ethical issues surrounding this mode of treatment. As well elaborated in the papers, stem cells come form embryo, which is a developing organism from conception until approximately the end of the second month. Thus taking stem cells from embryo would in other words mean killing a newly formed human being. This is definitely controversional and against many religion and believes.

Which brings me to my second thought regarding this matter… how tolerant are we all going to be? Is stem cell treatment a problem to all of us? How far are we going to explore this mode of treatment? Wonders can happen if we do… imagine to be able to treat heart disease, blindness and kidney failure? Isn’t that a good thing? But is it worth killing an embryo to give life to someone who has already had a chance to live?

I had a friend, Merdina, in high school. she was in the same prefectorial board as I was. She had Type 1 Diabetes. It was really sad watching a 17 year old having to inject herself every time she wanted to eat- especially if she wanted to eat something sweet such as cakes. Merd was really thin and tired all the time cos her body couldn’t use the food she ate. More complications then arose from the increased sugar levels in her blood. Merdina passed away at the age of 24 last year as she succumbed to her illness. Imagine your child dying at such an early age from a disease that she didn’t put onto herself. Imagine how her mother must have felt during her last few days alive. Imagine what my friend was thinking about during her last days…

Hopefully this so called ‘cure’ for Type 1 Diabetes will work its way out of its controversy. Dunno how though, perhaps we should Google what our religion says bout this matter too...

90% - FUND + 10% - DONATION = MASJID AL-IMAN !!!

Yesterday evening...while still at my work place reviewing the weekly quality status of the products...my secretary, Maznah told me that someone wants meet me. I said "Who..? 'she' or 'he'..?" my secretary said "a 'he' laa... a Haji in fact... Ishh..dia ni..". "Oo...ok2...ask him to come up.." I said. From my window I can see a middle-aged bearded guy with a 'lebai' who then came into my room, and then...

Haji : Assalamualaikummm boss..I'm sorry for disturbing?? Are you busy kah ?
Mr. BS : Waalaikumsalaammm...ehhh, don't call me boss..I am not your boss.. hmm..anything that I can do for you ? I`m Mr. Bright Sight but just call me BS and...you are...??
Haji : Ohh..my name Haji ??? (ark...lupa..!! really forgot his real name) came from Tumpat...I come to ask for some donation for the construction of Masjid Al-Iman at Kampung Kubu Telaga Bata, Tumpat! I hope you can make some donation laa..Lillah-hi taalaa je!
Mr. BS : Ooo... donation?? that sounds good! Hmm..but why does the `masjid-committee` still need to ask for donation..dont you already have enough ?The govermant doesnt provide the fund kah ?
Haji : No..not like that!They...give us 90% of the total cost plus some accommodation!
Mr.BS : 90% ?! why they don't give 100% ? Or..you guys misused it kot ? hahaa..
Haji : Ishh..no la! the goverment supports 90% of the cost and we're expected to generate the balance 10% from the locals ..so that, the locals can do their part in building this masjid .. plus this is a good way to put up a masjid- by helping each other... a lot of benefit, especially in the after life ! take for example like kampung telaga batu .. the kampung folks chipped in to build their masjid, and now the masjid is giving back to the people around there too and if you make some donation..you are one of them !
Mr. B : (Speechless....<-as though being sarcastically attacked !!!) Ok la haji..I'll give some...plus some from this company! I called my secretary and ask her for some petty cash money ! She give me some while arguing with me...

Secretary : For what this money boss..?
Mr.B : For the akhirat laaa..do the voucher haaa...
Secretary : Ok... (shocked!!!)

I went back to my room, put the money into the two envelopes...

Mr.B : Haji... this is our sincere donation.
Haji : But... why two envelopes...?
Mr.B :One for the masjid... one for you !

Haji
: One for me ? this is bribery or whatt...?
Mr.B : No..No..No..this is ikhlas from the company to you..please take it !
Haji : so this is really sincere ...? (looking disbelieved..)

I just watched his reaction, thinking to myself- why la? isnt wat i gave him enough??

Haji : if wat you've given me is sincere, then i'll accept it..
Mr.BS : thats the way Haji, dun say no to good fortune. its sincere, not bribery

But...suddenly
Haji ..put his envelop into the 'masjid-envelop' in front of my eyes ! and then...he said thanks and asked to leave !

One phrase from the Haji that I think I will remember it for a long time..for sure !
"i think theres a lot you should try to understand and learn on how to be sincere in a better way... assalamualaikum!!!"

Arkk...when he left i just sat at my desk thinking about it!
